What is the most effective lawn fertiliser

An application of specific lawn food is best for the lawn, and there are lots to choose from. Generally, the best ones are slow-release, which allows nutrients to be released for up to 12 weeks. The best example is lawnlife revive. There are exceptions, however. For a rapid green-up lawnlife rapid response granular fertiliser ideal, or lawnlife “adrenaline” folia feed is perfect with a high iron content to darken the leaf.

What fertiliser should I put on my lawn in Autumn?

Before frosts arrive, you could use lawnlife “revive” slow-release granular fertiliser. Once the winter hits, foliar fertiliser is best. It absorbs directly into the plant’s leaf for rapid utilisation by the plant. Lawnlife “adrenaline” is the secret here for a quick shot of colour.

What fertiliser should I put on my lawn in Spring?

Your lawn naturally has a burst of growth in the spring as the season warms up and winter soil nutrients are released for the plant to use. This effect soon falls away, so a balanced slow-release fertiliser is required to maintain plant health and growth. Lawnlife “revive” is ideal. If spring renovations and repairs have been carried out, then Lawnlife’s “jump-start” is perfect. Jumpstart is higher in phosphate and potassium, which encourages strong plant development.

How do I know what fertiliser to use?

There are lots of choices, but a specific lawn fertiliser is best. These fertilisers have been explicitly manufactured with lawn grass growth in mind. Of the lawn foods, slow-release fertiliser is best as it releases nutrients over some time. Lawn life “revive” is best.

Are epsom salt good for grass?

Epsom salts are magnesium sulphate. Magnesium and sulphur are essential nutrients but needed in smaller quantities in grass plants than nitrogen, phosphate and potassium. An alternative magnesium source is a dolomite, which is magnesium and calcium. You would only really use magnesium sulphate (Epsom salts) if there is a soil test result showing deficiency.
