Readylawn is a dense sward of grass plants grown to maturity in a nursery environment. This allows the turf to be transplanted from our site to yours simply and efficiently.
There are minimum requirements that all plants, including grass
plants need to survive.
All grass plants need plenty of sunshine, air movement, a firm,
but not too compacted growing environment, regular moisture and
nutrient supply as well as regular correct mowing to remain strong
and healthy.
Some grass plants are better suited to heat, some to shade, some
to high traffic areas and some to very little traffic.
Readylawn strives to produce the best turf product for each environment, but does not guarantee its suitability to any environment especially but not restricted to the following. These areas have proven to be poor performance areas for all grass, whether it be established lawns, new seed, spray on lawns or Turf
- 1) directly against any north facing wall, fence or other solid structure where the sun reflects onto the grass. Leave approximately 50 cm from the wall, or buffer with shrubs.
- 2) In any situation where there is less than 3 hours of summer sunshine per day. for example, under large dense trees or shallow rooting trees, beside fences, southern boundary fences or walls.
- 3) Generally up against house walls under eaves or any other roof structure or where natural rainfall wont reach.
- 4) In areas where there is poor drainage where the soil is waterlogged and/ or compacted.
Readylawn will perform initially where seed will not as it is already mature, however like any grass plant will adapt to its new environment over time
These situations are generally challenging areas for any grass lawn to thrive. If Readylawn will not thrive in these situations no other standard grass plant will either.
It is generally accepted that the plants that thrive in environments that grass plants dont ie moss, hydrocotyl, lichens and slimes will invade the lawn.
